The grandfather of a slain Florida toddler
has been located in a Daytona Beach motel, shortly after
authorities reported he had gone missing.
Early Friday morning, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said
deputies had found George Anthony at the Hawaiian Inn Hotel.
Anthony's daughter, 22-year-old Casey Anthony, has been charged
with killing her toddler, Caylee. Casey Anthony has claimed that a
baby sitter kidnapped the child. The case has drawn widespread
media attention.
Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood told reporters in
Orlando that George Anthony had sent text messages to family
members that indicated he "wanted to end his life."
The Anthonys' attorney, Brad Conway, said the family was
"relieved" he had been found.
