Show me the money. Most people you talk to will tell you they're hoping for a refund.
Ray Border Office Manager for H&R Block in Savannah tells News 3 He's seeing more people file quicker because of what's going on with the economy.
"Many of them I've talked to are nervous about their jobs because they see things happening in their business...business slowing. Hear about other people in comparable businesses losing their jobs. Listen to the news and its depressing. Many of them express concern about their personal position because lots of them are a pay check away from being in real trouble", says Ray Borders.
He also shares some of the new tax laws.
One in particular a 7,500 credit for first-time home buyers purchasing homes on or after April 9th, 2008 and before July 1, 2009.
It turns out to be a government interest free loan which you can pay back over 15 years. So If someone needs that money and maybe borrowed money for a down payment it may be a good deal for them. Have to look at it very carefully," says Borders.
There's another law you may be interested in.
Energy credits that were available in 2006 and 2007 are not deductible this time around.
If you bought items like insulation systems, storm windows or exterior doors in 2008 you will not get a tax credit. There's so much to tax refunds. We'll stay on your side bringing you valuable information. You can contact Ray Border at H&R Block with any questions.
