Community support can go a long way, and nowhere is that more true than at a local elementary school. Representatives of DaVita Clinics from Savannah and Springfield presented a big gift to Pulaski Elementary School’s Assistant Principal today. They delivered school uniforms, book bags, supplies and more for students. Many students at Pulaski are children of soldiers serving in Iraq. DaVita employees say they just had to do something to thank the soldiers fighting for our country. "We wanted to number one help kids and number two we wanted to do something for our military whose out there serving our country and protecting us everyday. So it just kind of felt right," says DaVita Facility Administrator, Donna Lombardo.
"We could not be more grateful to the folks at DaVita. It's a tremendous benefit at the school. To have students whose new to our school whose family may be experiencing hard times... To be able to give them the supplies that they need, get them on the fight track, start them on the right foot is just a tremendous benefit for all involved," says Pulaski Assistant Principal Kamal Piankhi.
DaVita clinics take care of patients whose kidney's are failing. They bought the uniforms and supplies with money raised from a garage sale.
