»  Comments | Post a Comment

About $400,000 in beef is missing after a truck was stolen today from a Ramada Limited in Ellenton, Florida.

John Lord, 47, of Palmetto, had parked his semi truck next to another in the Ramada parking lot, 5218 17 St. E., at about 2 p.m. He left the truck unlocked as he went inside to register, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

When he returned a few minutes later, the truck and refrigerated trailer containing the meat were gone. No one saw it happen, and there was no security video available, the report said.

The truck is owned by Oklahoma-based John Christner Trucking.
