Funerals were planned for two of the five victims of a South Carolina serial killer, and even a minister was keeping a firearm in his church office. Funerals were scheduled for Sunday afternoon at First Baptist Church in Gaffney for 50-year-old Gena Linder Parker and her mother, 83-year-old Hazel Linder. The first victim was 63-year-old Kline Cash, who died June 27. Then last Wednesday, relatives found Linder and Parker, bound and shot to death. Stephen Tyler died Thursday after he and his daughter, 15-year-old Abby, were shot. Abby Tyler died Saturday at a hospital. The Herald-Journal of Spartanburg reported that the Tylers' minister at Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church changed his sermon to help congregants keep their faith in the face of tragedy. The newspaper said Clyde Thomas had a pistol with him in his office Saturday.
