The names of two men killed early Tuesday morning in a Garden City home have been released. Police say 25-year-old Charles Maurice Jacobs was found inside the home. Garden City Police Chief David Lyons told us Tuesday that Jacobs was shot as many as 16 times in what he considered some kind of "hit."

According to police, Jacobs was known in the area as the rapper "Bugga" and may have recently signed a recording contract with a company in Atlanta.

Police believe that around 1 a.m. Tuesday, two masked men came into a home that Jacobs shared with his girlfriend at 117 Live Oak Lane in The Oaks subdivision. "We believe that Jacobs engaged in gunfire with the suspects," Lyons told us. "We found two pistols and an assault weapon inside the home."

Police found one of the suspects, now identified as 25-year-old Odontus Oliver, dead outside the house. They say Oliver was still wearing a ski mask. They also found a set of car keys in his pocket and located what they believe was the get-away car a couple of blocks from the home.

Since early Tuesday, police have been searching for the second suspect they believe entered the home with Oliver. Lyons tells us today he assumes the second suspect ran from the home on foot, since Oliver had the car keys in his pocket. Lyons also told us that the car, a 2009 Chevy Malibu, had been rented recently at Hertz.

Police also believe there is a chance that the second suspect was wounded in the shootout inside the home. They say dozens of rounds were apparently fired inside. "We have area hospitals on alert, in case someone comes in wounded," Lyons says.

Police say they continue to interview people, including several who apparently lived at the home, but were not home Tuesday morning.

Police also confirm they have heard a story that the shooting may have been motivated in part ecause of a gold chain, reportedly taken from one of the suspects by Jacbos last Friday night. "We have heard that and other things," Lyons tells us. "Right now, we're just trying to sort through what may be true."

Garden City Police continue to ask anyone with information to contact them or to call Crimestoppers.
