Folks came as early as 4am to get in line just to meet Paula Deen and have her sign one of their books. Hundreds of people wrapped around the Lady and Sons building, battling the 90+ degree heat, but enjoying every minute of their stay.
These folks weren't just from Savannah and the Low Country either. People came from as far away as California for a chance to shake hands and take a picture with their idol. One group of women drove all night, 17 hours in all, from Paris, Texas and then stood in line for 3+ hours before finally getting a few minutes with Paula.
Paula herself said she was amazed at the turnout and thrilled that she got a chance to meet her fans in person.
News 3's Andrew Davis has more on a wild morning in Downtown Savannah coming up tonight on News 3 at 6.
