The West Broad Street YMCA is asking for your help.
In the past someone donated a significant amount of money for the y to purchase school supplies for the children.
This year they had to bow out unexpectedly, leaving the “Y” in a lurch and because this “Y” serves kids who mostly live in public housing there is a great need.
“The challenge is if you start out behind you already feel behind and it psychologically hurts the kid and does make it difficult for them to learn and they don't have the things to work with so they tend to shut down,” Hoping to prevent that Executive Director Peter Doliber is appealing to you for help.
They need school supplies for roughly one hundred twenty students ranging from Pre-K to 8th grade.
They are looking for pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, hand sanitizer, lined paper, notebooks, calculators, and clear or mesh backpacks.
