Update: I-95 Accident Kills One

Five people thrown from SUV. Only one of six occupants was wearing a seat belt.

The single vehicle accident late this morning on I-95 near the Pooler Parkway exit killed one woman and another is, according to police, "fighting for her life". They were among six people traveling from Miami to North Carolina. Pooler police say the driver lost control of the SUV and the car flipped over in the median. The driver was the only person wearing a seatbelt. Five people were ejected from the SUV including children ages 1 and 9 years old. Police do say the children will be okay. The victims names are being withheld while police try to notify family members in Florida.
