Of course Saint Patrick’s Day is not just a time to party it's also a time to remember.
Following the annual Celtic Cross Mass numerous area Catholic Organizations participated in the Celtic Cross Ceremony.
The Parade’s Grand Marshall Father Patrick O’Brien laid a wreath on the Celtic Cross in down town Savannah.
The ceremony honors the city’s Irish Ancestors and the contributions they made.
“You know it’s very sad when we forget where we came from or we forget our ancestors so we remember them in a special way today,” explains Father O’Brien.
The next Saint Patrick's Day event will take place tomorrow afternoon at 4:30.
Participants will march from Johnson Square to Madison Square in honor or Jasper Green.
