Marshals Arrest Bryan County Suspect

Suspect wanted on drug charges. Arrest made in Statesboro.

A fugitive wanted by the Bryan County Sheriff’s Department was arrested by the U.S. Marshals
Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force on March 26, 2009, in Statesboro, Georgia.

Jeffrey Maurice Jones , 27, was being sought on a state warrants for Sale of Cocaine (2 charges) and Unlawful Use of a Communication Facility issued by the Bryan County Sheriff’s Department in Pembroke, GA. Jones had eluded capture by the Sheriff’s Department on more than one occasion. The Bryan County Sheriff’s Department requested assistance from the Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force to locate and arrest Jones.

The Marshals Task Force investigation generated leads that indicated that Jones was in the Statesboro, Georgia area. Numerous leads were worked that lead to an apartment complex at 431 Fair Road in Statesboro, GA. While driving through the complex, investigators recognized Jones as a subject that was working on a car and was under the hood of the vehicle. Investigators then approached the subject and Jones was arrested without incident. Jones was turned over the Bryan County investigators and taken to the Bryan County jail.
