On Tuesday, May 5, Senator Eric Johnson, Senator Lester Jackson, Mayor Otis Johnson and the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust will host author Pat Conroy at the Jewish Educational Alliance (JEA) for a special event. Conroy is the author of best-selling books such as The Great Santini, Prince of Tides and Beach Music and will be the special guest speaker.

The JEA is located at 5111 Abercorn Street, and the event will be held from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. with proceeds from the evening benefitting the Jane Lefco Memorial Holocaust Teacher Training Institute for Savannah area teachers. The tax deductible admission is $18 at the door.

The work of the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust is to take lessons of the Holocaust and lead generations of Georgians past racism and bigotry. The Commission offers a variety of programs to foster tolerance, good citizenship and character development among the citizens of the state of Georgia.
