CHAMBER HOSTS JOB SKILLS WORKSHOP SERIES
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC May 6, 2009 - The Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce is hosting a free series of job skills workshops to assist those looking for work in today's challenging job market.
"Self-Marketing in a Down Market" will be held on Monday, May 18 at 9 a.m. The one-hour workshop will provide advice on promoting your skills and talents as valuable commodities. The series is being conducted by Jack Wilson, who has extensive experience in executive career consulting and is affiliated with New Directions, Inc.
"You'll learn how to plan and execute a comprehensive campaign that covers all the necessary bases and keeps you in the game," says Wilson.
Two more workshops follow in June. "Networking Your Way to Results" will be held on June 1 and offers tips on how to network successfully through basic and advanced methods of communication.
"Interview...Evaluate...Negotiate!" will be held on June 22. It will offer insight for face-to-face situations with potential employers.
All seminars are from 9-10 a.m. There is no charge to attend any of the workshops, but seating is limited and reservations are required.
