A move by Chatham County to start charging residents a solid waste fee of eighty five dollars a year was tabled at today’s commission meeting. What was approved were new water and sewer fees which you will see a slight increase in starting on July first.
Recreational fees are also going up.
The county says the increases are needed in order to avoid a tax increase during these tough economic times.
