Victims Identified in Deadly Early Morning Accident

Police have no identified the person killed and the other person who was injured in an early morning accident.

Metro police have identified the driver of a Scion who died in an early morning accident as 19-year old Elizabeth Nicole Johnson of Waycross, Georgia. The passenger, who was seriously injured, is a U.S. Army solider, stationed locally, has been identified as 22-year-old Brian Pittman.

Previous Story:
An accident early Sunday morning killed one person and seriously injured another, according to Savannah-Chatham Metro Police. They say just before 1:00 a.m., officers responded to the area of Highway 204 (eastbound) near Grove Point Road. They found a vehicle (a white colored Scion) in the embankment off 204. Two people were inside the car, one was dead, the other was taken to Memorial Medical Center with serious injuries.

Police believe the Scion and a silver colored BMW were traveling east the highway at a high rate of speed when the driver of the Scion lost control. They say the driver of the BMW was arrested for Driving Under the Influence (DUI).

The identity of the person who died hasn't been released at this time. If anyone has any information about what happened, they're asked to call police at 912-652-6650.
