Tybee Island parents say they moved to the island to keep their children safe. They're extremely disturbed after learning that a man police say last lived on the island was arrested for child molestation and sexual battery.

51-year old Lawrence Madison is charged with 3 counts of child molestation, 2 counts of sexual battery, aggravated sexual battery and public indecency.

Madison, a Savannah lawyer, was supposed to have a bond hearing this morning, but it was postponed. He turned himself in to authorities last night around 10:00 p.m. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police say Madison was supposed to turn himself in by 5 p.m., but didn't. That's when officials turned to the media and the public for help in locating him.
