Swine Flu Scams

The Better Business Bureau is warning consumers to be wary of "flu prevention kits" and other similar products being marketed online.

Dr. Richard Volt, Director of Colorado's Tri-County Health Department, says at this point there's no way around the wait for the flu vaccine and products that claim otherwise are fraudulent.

"Under these circumstances the best thing to do is to use common sense and a lot of these quick fixes are really not proven," he says.

The Food and Drug Administration has compiled a list of more than 100 H1N1 products available online that lead consumers to believe they're getting something their not.

According to the Better Business Bureau, in the best cases these products won't do anything, but in others they could have a potentially harmful effect.
