Here's a breakdown on how Representatives voted in Georgia and South Carolina. In Georgia - only 4 lawmakers voted yes. The remaining 9, including Democrat John Barrow and Republican Jack Kingston, voted no. In South Carolina – only 2 lawmakers voted yes. 4, including Joe Wilson, voted against the bill. Congressman Barrow tells news 3 he's for Health Care Reform, but this bill needs more work. “When it comes to getting underline costs under control, the house bill doesn't do very much of that. When it comes to regulating insurance companies, the middle men - the folks who are between us and the health care providers - it does a very poor job of doing that," says Barrow. Congressman Jack Kingston believes negotiations with the Senate will pave the way for a Health Care Bill that will benefit the whole country. "Trying to help people that have fallen through the cracks, that are unemployed in this economy is a helpful thing, but you know running up the tab on the cost when we already have a very high deficit this year and a huge national debt, too. It's going to obligate our children's children to something that they're going to have a hard time getting away from," says Kingston. The House Bill would cover 96% of Americans, cost 1.2 trillion dollars over ten years, include a government-run public insurance option, and prevent insurance companies from denying coverage from people with pre-existing conditions. The bill now goes to the Senate. That vote is not expected anytime soon.
