(Savannah) Charlotte Norsworthy is young, but she knows well about premature births. Her sister died as a result of prematurity, and her 7 year old brother was born premature. Little Tillman is doing well. Today Charlotte stepped up to support her charity by donating blankets to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Memorial Hospital. Charlotte says “It really makes a warm spot in my heart to know that I am making a difference on these babies just by donating blankets.” November is Prematurity Awareness Month. Patricia Barrett is the NICU Family Support Specialist at Memorial. She says in Georgia 400 babies are born too soon every year. In Chatham County 13.4 % of all babies are born early. “Our goal this year is to fight for preemies because they certainly deserve it,” says Barrett. To join the fight against premature births call the local March of Dime office at (912) 354-5900.
