SAVANNAH, Ga. - A joint effort by Chatham County law enforcement leads to the arrest of a registered sex offender.
Agents with the Chatham - Savannah Counter Narcotics Team, along with the Chatham County Sheriffs Office Sex Offender Registration and Tracking team and probation officers, were investigating a tip that Xavier Massey was involved in drug dealing.
Authorities said they arrived at his home Tuesday morning and found 110 grams of powdered and crack cocaine and almost 2 oz. of marijuana packaged for distribution.
Officials also recovered a ballistic vest, digital scale, and a stuffed bear that police said Massey used to hide the drugs.
Massey was on probation for aggravated assault with intent to rape.
He now faces drug trafficking charges.
