To officially usher in the holiday season, Disney flipped the switch on its annual Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights. More than five million glittering bulbs lit up the streets as part of the display.
The brightest year yet, entire buildings at the theme park are blanketed in sheets of multi-colored lights and thousands more light up twirling carousels, heavenly angels, and even Santa and his reindeer. Choreographed to traditional holiday music, they dim and dramatically spring to life approximately every ten minutes. Started as a single home’s annual display, the family’s collection of lights grew and grew until it was offered a permanent home at the Walt Disney World Resort.
The Spectacle of Lights, presented by Sylvania, will be on display through January 4, 2010.
