SAVANNAH, Ga. -- With the state of the economy, more of our neighbors are in need this holiday season than ever before.
The Salvation Army's familiar red kettles and bell ringers have started appearing at local businesses, including Kroger, Sears, Belk, Walgreens, and Macy's. They'll start appearing outside Wal-mart after Thanksgiving.
Their goal is to raise more than $200,000 this year. The money goes to help families in need at Christmas and throughout the year.
Volunteers are also needed to ring the bell. If you'd like to help, call 912-651-7420.
