Finally some good news on the economy, retail sales are up. The Commerce Department says total sales rose one point four percent last month compared to September. A trend stores are hoping continues into the holiday season. To make sure they do they're pulling out all the stops.
News Three’s Alice Massimi has the shopping scoop.
It's the most wonderful time of the year for stores everywhere......
“I think it is the biggest time of the year for us. It makes or breaks your year and it is going to be a big one this year,” says Ebenezer Tobgo a Manager at Best Buy in Savannah.
So Tobgo and the rest of the staff at Best Buy are gearing up, stocking up and showing off their best and brightest.
“If you look down the track here, all these products that previously were in the top, if we don't have time to get to that customer now they have the ability to grab the product themselves take a look at the product info on the box,”
The items sought after this year... Tobgo says LED T.V.'s and anything gaming top the list.
At Target there is no mistaking Christmas is right around the corner.... all the eye catching trimmings are hung
Already deals are popping up at Target, this week its Christmas trees but as for the big deals on Black Friday mum is the word.
“Ahhh nothing specific but we do have some amazing door busters and deals throughout the day,” says Target Team Leader Mary Christian Chester.
Toy sales are starting to boom and Chester says the holiday spirit is spreading.
“We are really prepared with our staffing, crowd control outside. We are partnering with local authorities for the morning and just really getting ready to have some awesome deals on the floor.”
Throughout the years more and more people are deciding to stay at home and shop online. Some deals are just as good if not better on Cyber Monday...which is just three days after the notorious Black Friday.
