SAVANNAH, Ga. -- A motorcycle accident Tuesday afternoon left one man dead.
It happened near Highway 204 and I-95 in the Gateway area around 3:30 p.m.
Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department said Robert and Maria Googe, of Ft. Pierce, Florida, were going westbound when Robert Googe lost control of the Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Both were taken to Memorial University Medical Center where Robert Googe was pronounced dead.
Police said Maria Googe remains hospitalized recovering from her injuries.
Westbound traffic on Highway 204 was shut down for about two hours as authorities investigated.
