SAVANNAH, GA (November 19, 2009): Three people, two adults and a juvenile, have been arrested by Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police officers for allegedly robbing two people then running from police.
Police received two calls early Thursday evening about two street robberies in the same area....one at East 56th St. and Atlantic St, the second at East 54th St. and Abercorn St.
The victims described the vehicle used and shortly after police sent out an alert an officer spotted the suspects.
Polcie say they fled, wrecked the car on Country Drive, where one suspect was quickly arrested. The other two were later found in the 2100 block of South Fernwood St. Police say two weapons, including one believed to have been fired at police during the chase, were found and the car was reported stolen. The two adult suspects are Romell Stephens and Christopher Washington, both 21 years old.
