Remembering Jason Scott, Victim of Hardeeville Train Collision

»  Comments | Post a Comment

All four people riding in the car that collided with a train Monday night died. One of them was a Hardeeville man who was laid to rest Friday. Thirty-four-year-old Jason Scott is remembered for his love of cooking and always being the life of the party.

An upbeat service seemed fitting for the man whose personality was just the same. Even in this time of pain, friends can't help but smile reminiscing over the memories made with Jason Scott. They consider this a celebration of sorts, speaking of a place Jason now rests where he's even happier than before. But still there is sadness, knowing the joy they shared with Jason on Earth has drawn to an end. And that close comes from such a horrific tragedy, that may never be understood.

"This has been the worst week of my life,” Britani Powell said. “Not only have I lost a niece, I have lost a best friend. Jason meant the world I'm sure not just to me but to all of us."

Especially the children. Many commented that kids would often to cling to Jason and he got joy out of bringing some to them. There are many special ones he leaves behind but he is joined with one of his biggest fans: Taylor Arnsdorff. Until the rest of them may meet him again, they vow to seek happiness in this life, just as Jason did the same.
