Chatham County Curbside Recycling Petition Gets Closer to Referendum

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Savannah, GA—Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 1 p.m. at the Bull Street Library, Karen Grainey, the sponsor for the Chatham County curbside recycling petition, will announce the petition's progress and timeline for a possible referendum.

“We represent the will of thousands of citizens in Chatham County,” says Grainey. Last week, Grainey and others in the group Citizen's for Curbside Recycling released a proposal for implementing a program in the unincorporated county, providing a way forward towards the county's goal of becoming the greenest in the state.

Grainey will answer questions about this plan, as well as an update on the petition process. “We have hit upon a way in which we feel the county can provide this best practice for no additional cost to residents.”
