The Tybee Island Fire Department is hosting an open house tonight. Get your children and head to the fire department for food, games and demonstrations.

The Tybee Island Fire Department is hosting an open house tonight. Get your children and head to the fire department at 7 p.m. for food, games and demonstrations.

Fire department officials want to make sure that you know what you need to do in case of an emergency, whether it's a fire, an injury or situation at the beach.

There will be talks or demonstrations from the Savannah-Chatham K-9 Unit, Omni Flight Helo landing, a Smoke House, from Safe Kids Savannah, Tybee Island Ocean Rescue, Coast Guard Station Tybee Island and even "dunk-a-firefighter"

Tonight's open house will be held at the fire department on Jones Avenue next to Memorial Park. The open house is sponsored by the City of Tybee and the Optimist Club.
