Woman Dragged 1,000 Feet by Car

Authorities are looking for a driver accused of hitting a woman and dragging her 1,000 feet.

GARDEN CITY, Ga. -- A Chatham County woman is in the hospital after being dragged 1,000 feet by a car.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. on Sparkman Drive, near the Chatham City Apartments.

Garden City Police said two women got into a fight, and one tried to run over the other with a car. The suspect hit a couple of nearby cars, before hitting the victim and dragging her over the pavement.

Authorities said the victim, who is in her early 20's, was taken to Memorial Medical Center, but she is expected to recover.

A small child was grazed by the car but wasn't hurt.

Police are looking a burgundy Chevrolet four-door, possibly a Malibu, with a Bulloch County, Georgia, license tag.
