SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Known as the "Traveling Evangelist", 57-year old Frances Brown is now in jail.

That announcement was made by Savannah Chatham Metro Chief Willie Lovett and detectives of the department's Financial Crimes Unit Thursday afternoon.

Police believe Brown preyed on an elderly couple, befriending them to get access to their personal information and credit card accounts. Detectives say Brown ran up about $16,000 worth of debt in the couple's name.

Now caught, Brown is charged with identity fraud, elder abuse and unauthorized use of a credit card.
