SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Halloween may be a week away, but that didn't stop man's best friend from getting in on the fun Saturday.
Dozens of dogs and their owners dressed up for Wag-O-Ween, a trick-or-treating event for pets. Participants enjoyed a walk downtown and got some treats in the process.
Wag-O-Ween is sponsored by St. Almo, a group of dog lovers who meet every Sunday to walk their dogs and meet new people.
"You buy the map for $5. You follow it all the way down through the historic district. We've got 79 businesses participating," said Sara Portman with St. Almo.
Some costumes included bumble bees, Sesame Street characters, and a can-can girl.
"Love it. All the dogs, There's so many dogs, and they're, the costumes are just wonderful. People are very creative," said Don Moore, who came to the event with his pomeranian Cleo, dressed as a princess.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Savannah Chatham Humane Society.
