Red Ribbon Week: Say No To Drugs

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Students, parents, and the community are coming together at Charles Ellis Montessori School to celebrate the kickoff of Red Ribbon Week.

Students took a pledge against drugs. It's something that ties everyone together. School officials and students decorated with red ribbons as a reminder to stay drug free.

"Red Ribbon Week is remembering DEA agent Enrique. He was killed in the line of duty and it's been going on for years. Red Ribbon Week is a chance for the community and the schools to come together in the fight on drugs. Basically, the kids are pledging to be drug free," explains Mike Stubbs, assistant director of health, P.E. and athletics.

There will be different red ribbon events at Ellis as well as several other schools in the district throughout the week.
