SAVANNAH, Ga. -- One Savannah high school is taking a non-traditional approach to getting parents involved in their children's education.
The 2nd annual Pack the Gym rally at Beach High school Wednesday night was designed to get the whole school community involved.
Dozens of students, teachers, and parents enjoyed entertainment from the school band and cheerleaders. They also had pizza and soda, while finding out about future plans for the school.
"It actually packs the gym with all of those components of our school's population and it's a way to extend an invitation into the school and have everybody see what's going on here," said Beach High principal Dr. Deonn Bostic Stone.
Architects for the new Beach High school project were also on hand with an update about construction plans.
