15 Year-old Pedestrian Injured in Accident

Police investigating an accident that sent a teenage pedestrian to the hospital Wednesday.

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Police are investigating an accident that sent a teenage pedestrian to the hospital Wednesday.

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police said the accident happened just after 7:00 a.m. at the intersection of De Lesseps Avenue and Truman Parkway.

Officers say a 15 year-old girl had been hit by a car. Authorities say she was taken to Memorial University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators believe the teenager was walking on De Lesseps Avenue when she was hit by a vehicle turning onto the northbound Truman Parkway on-ramp.

Police say the driver of the vehicle was cited for Failure to Yield to a Pedestrian.
