If you were on Tybee Island's south end today, you may have seen smoke coming from neighboring Little Tybee Island.
Department of Natural Resources officials say they don't know how they fire started and that there were no storms last night to cause it.
The island is only accessible by boat so they will let the fire burn itself out.
Nobody lives on the 6,000 acre island and there are no structures on the island. Most of it is marsh land. About 600 acres is actually land.
