South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford tells WSAV News 3 he sees no circumstances under which he would resign. Sanford is set to speak to a Rotary Club in Beaufort this afternoon. "I came close to resigning in June but now I believe the people of South Carolina just want us to get back to business," Sanford told us.
Members of Sanford's own party, including the speaker of the house and lieutenant governor and the state GOP have called for Sanford to resign, but he says "he is not leaving."
Sanford also told WSAV's JoAnn Merrigan he doesn't feel his administration is operating under "a cloud and can still be effective."
"The greatest test is not falling but getting back up," Sanford says. "I'm up."
