(Savannah) New York Times Best-Selling Author Mary Kay Andrews has a special message for women. She says learning from life's lessons really can help women do for themselves. She signed her latest book -The Fixer Upper- before speaking at The Smart Women Luncheon and Expo today.
Andrews once worked as a Reporter at The Savannah Morning News, and her daughter was born here. Her advice to women - take care of your health and believe in yourself. "I think that people put roadblocks in our way lots of times, and we can either stumble over them or get up and climb over them. Women have to learn to ask for what they need in life... to believe in themselves and to believe in the worth of whatever their passion is," says Andrews.
She also has thoughts about the economy. "If you stay true to what you believe in and what you have, hopefully you can overcome all of this, but it's tough times for all of us. And I think we have to remember to be kind to each other when times are tough and not to think about, you know, stomping over the little guy." The Smart Women event benefits The Mary Telfair Women's Hospital at Saint Joseph's/Candler. WSAV is a proud sponsor.
