SAVANNAH, Ga. -- West Savannah neighbors turned out Friday evening to take a stand against crime in their community.
Saints Opposed to Crime, or SOC, held their annual anti-crime march through the neighborhood's streets.
The march started in front of the Second St. John Missionary Baptist Church in West Savannah.
Organizers say they want more people to participate and take a stand against drugs, theft, and violence.
"We have a lot of strange people in the neighborhood. We have new residents with Fellwood coming in. We just want everybody to understand and know that we love West Savannah, and we're still going to fight to live here in peace," said neighborhood leader Pamela Oglesby.
Saints Opposed to Crime had their first march in January 2007, when rising incidents of crime caused a lot of frustration in the neighborhood.
