SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Police said a tip from a citizen led to four people being arrested and the recovery of guns and a stolen car.
Savannah-Chatham Metro Police said officers responded to the 2300 block of Downing Avenue around 6:30 p.m. Monday for a report of a suspicous vehicle. Police found the 2003 Volkswagen Passat had been stolen out of Savannah.
Witnesses told officers they saw four men get out of the car and go into an apartment. Officers found four men, two guns, and items from the Volkswagen inside the apartment.
Police said Hakeem Ramona Campbell, 18, Paul Rashmel George, 17, Malcolm Xavier Rapheal Mitchell, 17, and Billy Thompson III, 20, were charged with theft by receiving stolen property (Auto). Police said Mitchell was also charged with possession of tools during the commission of a crime.
