UPDATE 8:40PM: One Fort Stewart soldier is dead and another injured after a late night car accident in Long County Saturday.

UPDATE 8:40PM: 22-year-old Fort Stewart soldier ryan Terrance Brady is dead after a car accident involving another soldier.

The accident happened Saturday night around 11pm in the 800 block of Stewart Hodges Loop. The road began as a paved road and then turned into a dirt road.

Officials say the driver, 29-year-old Johnathan Leadabrand of Hinesville, losst control of the vehicle as he attemped to go around a curn and then slammed into a tree.

The impact caved in the driver's side of the vehicle and the jaws of life had to be used to remove the roof.

Rescue personnel worked to revive Brady at the scene but he was later pronounced dead.

Leadabrand was takent o Memorial Health University Medical Center. He was released early Sunday and no charges have been filed in the case.
