Do you remember the first time you opened the pages of your very own book? One non-profit organization is helping to bring that feeling to more children in our community, but they need your help. On Saturday, October 10, First Book-Savannah/Chatham County will hold a benefit art auction to provide free new books to local literacy programs serving kids in need.
Studies show the key to improving our nation's literacy crisis is to offer young children more access to print. Since 2002, First Book-Savannah/Chatham County has given away more than 15,000 age appropriate books to youngsters in our area.
