LIBERTY COUNTY, Ga. -- Two people were killed and two injured after a wreck between Midway and Riceboro Tuesday. It happened at the intersection of Barrington Ferry Road and Highway 17 around 6:00 p.m. The Georgia State Patrol says 19 year old Amanda Wright was driving a Dodge Neon and failed to yield while turning left. Her car was hit on the driver's side by a Dodge pickup. Wright and 10 year-old Jonathan Russell were killed. Authorities say the two were not related. Another woman and a child in the vehicle were hurt and had to be cut from the backseat of the car. Fire officials at the scene said they were conscious and their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, but they were transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah for treatment. Their identities were not released. The accident is still under investigation. There are no charges pending against the driver of the pickup.
