SAVANNAH, GA(February 5, 2010) – The Chatham County DA's office announced today the conviction of 80 year old David J. Hesrick, of Sexual Exploitation of Children and two counts of False Statement to Law Enforcement Officer. On November 28, 2008, police were called to Hesrick's home after they say he had a fight with his roommate. During the investigation, officers say they discovered the fight was over the roommate’s discovery of pornographic images involving children. Investigators seize the computer and equipment from the home. At least 15,000 images and 12 videos were recovered containing pornographic images of children. The defendant was arrested on January 2, 2009, after the computer search was completed, and indicted on January 28, 2009, by the Grand Jury. Superior Court Judge John Morse, Jr. sentenced Hesrick to 10 years, with two to serve.
