SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Heart disease is the number one killer of American women. One out of every four women will die of it each year. The symptoms include shortness of breath, fatigue, chest discomfort, and back and arm pain.
Friday, February 5, is National Go Red for Women Day. The awareness campaign from the American Heart Association encourages everyone to wear red in support of the women in their lives who have been touched by heart disease.
"We're trying very hard to make sure that every woman knows about heart health because over 2.800 people have heart disease everyday, and they die every 37 seconds," said Pat McKinnon, director of the American Heart Association.
