The Third Infantry Division's Commanding General Tony Cucolo says things in Iraq are going very well.
The unit deployed to Northern Iraq shortly before the holidays.
While there they are tasked with training up Iraqi Forces and reconstruction they’re having to remain on the offensive...especially with the country's upcoming elections.
“We are doing our best with our Iraqi Security Forces partners to just protect the population and give them the confidence that they can get up on the morning of March 7th, go to the polls, safely cast a secret ballot for whomever they wish, to depart and get home safely,” explains MG Cucolo.
Following the elections the Third I.D. will have the task of overseeing the massive troop withdrawal in Iraq.
