Bartow Elementary to Celebrate Black History through Music and Words

Students and staff at Savannah's Bartow Elementary are wrapping up Black History Month in a big way. The school is gearing up to host "Celebrating Traditions through Music and Words" on Thursday, February 25 at 1:00 p.m. The program will be held as a finale for the month long celebration of African American History, culture and traditions. The program will feature the Bartow Elementary School Chorus. Students will also recite speeches from famous orators like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and President Barack Obama who have made an impact on our culture today. Local band, "One Sound," Vern Tremble (Bartow class of 2000), and other guests will provide entertainment by performing some of their original songs as well as some traditional ballads.
