(Savannah) "Can you blow? Oh you can...do it again. A doctor's visit free of needles for Hunter and William. They've had their double dose of H1N1 shots unlike many kids. The Centers for Disease Control recommends that children under 10 receive 2 doses of the H1N1 Vaccine. The second dose coming about a month after the first, but some doctors in Georgia say that's not happening. Many kids are not coming back. "A lot of our patients haven't received a second dose," says Dr. Ben Spitalnick. The fridge is proof at Pediatric Associates. It's loaded with the H1N1 Vaccine, once hard to come by. The number of H1N1 cases has dropped nationwide, but the virus is still out there. "What worries me more than the 2nd vaccination missing is there's still a lot of kids that haven't received one dose. There are still a lot of families that don't appreciate the seriousness of influenza of H1N1. Dr. Spitalnick's adivce - don't move on to other things and give up on the vaccine. "You do get a false sense of security. The disease seems to be down when your school isn't full of H1N1. You think - Oh I guess it's over, we don't need it. It'll be back. It was gone and came back once pretty hard. It could come back again." No matter who you talk to, people have an opinion about the H1N1 Vaccine. Some people say they won't get the shot because it's a government conspiracy. Others feel it's not safe, and they're afraid of side effects or getting sick from the vaccine itself.
