Hunter Army Airfield, Fort Stewart and community leaders met today to discuss the impact of the 100 million dollar budget cut.
“Our troops will receive the same phenomenal training, life, safety issues will be addressed, and our families will be cared for. Child and youth services will be taken care of and security will be completely intact so those items will not be touched,” explains Brigadier General Jeffrey Phillips of the Third Infantry Division.
General Phillips says the most noticeable effects will be less lawn maintenance and because they will be hiring less civilians soldiers and their families can expect longer lines at some locations.
