Bobcats Celebrate Birthdays at Oatland Island

Oatland Island Wildlife Center's bobcats, Jenny and Alex, celebrated their birthdays Saturday.

There were no balloons at this birthday celebration and the cake was made of frozen raw meat, pieces of cheese, and hotdogs.

The party was for the two bobcats at the Oatland Island Wildlife Center Saturday. Folks gathered to learn more about the animals and then they got to watch them eat their cake.

"Jenny is turning 20 and Alex is 18,which is a really great age for bobcats. They have been known to live up to 30 years in captivity, but that's really a rarity. That really goes to show the great level of care we give our animals here at Oatland Island," said Michele Mazzei, a naturalist at Oatland Island Wildlife Center.

Visitors can see the bobcats and all the other animals at the Oatland Island Wildlife Center from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day.
