2 Soldiers Killed in Afghanistan

Defense officials announced the deaths of a Georgia and a North Carolina soldier.

The Department of Defense said two soldiers were killed Monday in Afghanistan.

Officials said Spc. Matthew D. Huston, 24, of Athens, Ga. and Spc. Josiah D. Crumpler, 27, of Hillsborough, N.C. were killed in Bala Murghab, Afghanistan, when insurgents attacked their unit.

The soldiers were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.
